The Happy Bridge

Founding was January 2009.
The founders are Kees and Els Sinjorgo, special education teacher and secondary school teacher respectively. By now Kees and Els only have an advising role.
The target group is Children with a mental and / or physical disability.
The goal is to get the above-mentioned target group out of their isolation; to allow socialization to offer a better future perspective; learning primary skills that are adapted to the capabilities of the individual child. If possible, placement in regular (special) education.
What do we want from you? 4-day lesson program per week from 9 to 11 am; supervisors from 8 to 12 in preparation and discussion, 2x per month home visit, 2x per month swimming lessons every saturday morning speech therapy and also manual skills for the older pupils,
Guided by 4 Balinese counselors. The job description depends on the field of study of the volunteer; they formulate their own job description and submit it for assessment.
Good motivation and commitment are important.
Jembatan Senang has no budget for volunteers / interns. Travel and accommodation costs, visa costs are for your own account. We can, however, advise on where to apply for a visa and which accommodation options there are in Candidasa and the surrounding area.
Minimum duration of a volunteer project: 2 to 4 consecutive months.
The conversation of the supervisors and the children is in the Indonesian language, some basic knowledge of this is appreciated.
